1 Introduction
Raintech Projects ("we", "us", or "our") operates the B Billing mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App as a companion to B Billing Desktop software installed on your shop's computer.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. B Billing is designed for in-store use on your local shop network. We do not operate a cloud service that stores your business data on our servers.
Your sales, customer, and product data stays on your shop's own computer and on your mobile device. We do not sell your data. The App connects to your desktop billing software over your local Wi‑Fi network only.
2 About the App
B Billing is a mobile point-of-sale companion app. It connects to B Billing Desktop running on a computer in your shop. To pair your phone with the desktop software, you scan a QR code displayed on the desktop app.
The App communicates with your shop PC over your local area network (LAN). Your phone and desktop computer must be connected to the same Wi‑Fi network. The App does not require or use internet cloud servers for billing operations.
When the desktop server is temporarily unreachable, the App may store pending sales locally on your device and sync them automatically when the connection is restored.
3 Information We Collect
The App collects and processes the following types of information:
| Data type | What is collected | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Device information | Device ID, device name (manufacturer & model), operating system (Android/iOS) | Shop PC only |
| Connection credentials | Session token, shop ID, local server address (IP & port), pairing token | Your phone |
| Business data | Products, customers, sales, invoices, payment modes, company details synced from desktop | Phone + shop PC |
| Camera (QR scan) | Used live to read pairing QR code — images are not stored or uploaded | Not stored |
| Network status | Wi‑Fi connectivity check to detect online/offline mode | Your phone |
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your personal name, email, or phone number unless you enter customer details as part of normal billing operations (stored on your shop systems).
- We do not track your location via GPS.
- We do not upload your business data to Raintech Projects servers.
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs to profile users.
4 How We Use Information
Information collected by the App is used solely to:
- Pair your device with B Billing Desktop via QR code or manual token entry
- Register your mobile device as an authorized billing terminal for your shop
- Sync products, customers, and sales between your phone and shop desktop software
- Process bills and invoices during in-store billing operations
- Store pending sales offline when the local server is temporarily unavailable, and sync when reconnected
- Maintain your session so you do not need to re-scan the QR code every time you open the App
- Identify your device on invoices (Till ID / device name) for record-keeping on your shop system
We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to operating the App as your shop's billing companion.
5 Local Storage & Network Communication
All billing data is exchanged directly between your mobile device and your shop's desktop computer over your local Wi‑Fi. Raintech Projects does not receive, store, or have access to your business transactions on any remote server.
On your mobile device
- Shared Preferences — session token, server URL, shop ID, and app settings
- Local database (SQLite) — cached products, customers, sales history, and pending offline sales
On your shop computer
- B Billing Desktop stores and manages your master business records
- Device registration records (device ID, name, OS) are kept on your shop server
Network communication
The App communicates with your shop PC using HTTP over your local network (e.g.
http://192.168.x.x:5050). This traffic stays within your shop's private network
and is not routed through Raintech Projects infrastructure.
You are responsible for securing your shop Wi‑Fi network, desktop computer, and physical access to registered mobile devices. We recommend using a private shop network (not public guest Wi‑Fi) and keeping your desktop software updated.
6 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or business information to third parties.
The App does not share your data with:
- Advertising networks
- Data brokers
- Social media platforms
- Cloud storage providers operated by Raintech Projects
Business data flows only between your mobile device and your shop's B Billing Desktop installation. We may disclose information only if required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
7 App Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions:
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Camera | To scan the QR code from B Billing Desktop for device pairing. Camera images are processed in real time and are not saved or transmitted to us. |
| Internet / Network | To communicate with B Billing Desktop on your local shop network and to check network connectivity for offline mode. |
You can deny the Camera permission, but you will not be able to scan QR codes. You may still connect using manual token entry if supported by your desktop software.
8 Data Retention
- Session data (token, server URL, shop ID) is kept on your device until you log out or uninstall the App.
- Cached business data (products, customers, sales) remains on your device while the App is installed and is refreshed from your desktop server during sync.
- Pending offline sales are retained locally until successfully synced to your shop PC, then updated with the server-assigned invoice number.
- Uninstalling the App removes locally stored session tokens and cached data from your phone. Data on your shop desktop is not affected.
9 Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App:
- Device pairing requires a one-time token from your desktop software
- Registered devices receive a session token for authenticated API requests
- Communication is confined to your local shop network
- Offline sales are stored in a local database on your device (protected by your device's operating system security)
Because billing data is stored on your shop's own systems, overall security also depends on your shop's network configuration, firewall settings, and physical device access controls.
10 Children's Privacy
B Billing is a business application intended for shop owners and staff. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will assist in removing locally stored data.
11 Your Choices & Rights
You can control your data in the following ways:
- Log out — removes your session token from the App and requires re-pairing
- Uninstall the App — deletes all locally cached data from your phone
- Revoke device access — remove the registered device from B Billing Desktop on your shop PC
- Deny camera access — use manual token entry instead of QR scanning (if available)
Because we do not store your business data on our servers, requests to access or delete business records should be handled through your shop's B Billing Desktop installation, which holds the master copy of your data.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we may also notify you through an in-app notice or an update on our website.
